we had interviews with president Arrington this past week as well

Happy Birthday Elder Smoot!

i had a really good week! we actually have found some people this past week. there is one girl as we went into a house to visit a less active and to explain a bit we were in a hurry but the girl that is 15 years old just sat and listened to our lesson and she ended up going to church and we talked to her and after we felt bad for not having invited her to listen in on the lesson. (by the way she was eating) haha but we set up an appointment so we will be teaching her this week! i have high hopes for her and she seems really good!!

i was just going to pass my birthday like a normal day but i guess my comp asked the office elders when my birthday was and they told him and for the district class they gave me a cake and as well on my birthday some members threw a surprise birthday party. it was nice of them. i had a great birthday!

thanks for the prayers and i will be seeing you all soon!

the sun got in my eyes a bit haha

well i am doing really good. i honestly feel really peaceful and i feel and i have seen that as i try to consecrate myself as a missionary to take advantage of all the extra time i have i have been able to feel the spirit more in my life. It really makes a huge difference in my day and my attitude.

its been amazing to be able to see all the people that i have seen be baptized in this sector have all now received the priesthood and have blessed the sacrament. this past sunday i was passing the sacrament and watching diego who was the one who got baptized in february bless the sacrament. i was thinking about that moment and afterwards diego gave a powerful talk about the sabbath day. i honestly felt the spirit during that meeting. Its like nothing i have never felt before.

So every sunday the assistants call us for the numbers and everything and the assistants are actually working in the sector i started in. (Andalién) they have been visiting lorena and igancio who i was there and had the priviledge to help them get to the gospel and be baptized. lorena had another son that was diego. when i was there diego was 7 so he couldnt get baptized and now diego is 9 and still hasnt been baptized. the husband isnt a member and he loves the missionaries and i get along really well him him as well his name is jimmy. a couple sundays ago a house caught on fire and burned a little of lorenas house and it was on sunday morning. that morning the bishop and the leaders of the organizations in that ward were at her house before church helping lorenas family clean up their house. According to the assistants they said jimmy soften up a little and now this sunday diego will be baptized! i was so happy to hear that when they told me. that family is really special to me. I will be calling them my last week because we are aloud to do so. i am so happy for them.

i am excited to see you all but it still doesnt seem real to me that i am on my last weeks... i will do want grandpa said and think that i still have 3 more months and that way i will finish strong! haha

have a great week!

well it was great talking to you all.

I honestly love all the advise you guys gave me. i love you guys and every single one of you are very important to me. i kinda told you guys a little about my week yesterday so i wont talk to much about that.

More than anything i just want to ask your prayers so that i will be able to finish my mission strong. i am learning and have been able to learn and appreciate the word consecration. something we all need to do in our lives to become more like christ.

its wonderful see the progress of recent converts and missionaries and leaders and even family members.

I will be seeing you all soon and i pray for you all every day. have a great week.

Wk 100 - puro ponerle

Companion: Elder Robinson
Area: Tome'

this week was pretty sick. this past week we found some guys but the best news is that Carlos went to church with baptismal date and has a date for the 14th of may so i am super excited about that!! we have a member that is helping us as well. it was so funny this past week we went to go knock on his door to bring him to church and he didnt open it for us at first. we went back to the church(his house is close to the church) and brother puentes (a member) asked us what had happened. we told him what had happened that he didnt answer the door and carlos suffers from depression so at times he just doesnt have any desire to leave his house... the member told us lets go get him! i was like well yeah why not? we went and knocked on his door again but this time brother puentes just kept knocking on his window until he came to the door. haha it was quite funny. brother puentes said hey elders if he gets mad dont worry about it. he finally came to the door and you could tell he was a little bothered but the member just pumped him up to go to church and he ended up going. it was a funny experience.

we played some soccer saturday and it was sweet! i love playing soccer now and i am not terrible at it anymore. starting was pretty awful but now i aint terrible... haha

oh as well i am so happy for easton! heck yeah!! i know some missionarys from cusco peru here in my mission. that should be way fun! that will be a sweet mission!! he will be speaking some español!!! haha that will be sick. honestly i love speaking spanish!!!

have a great week and i will see you all on sunday!!:)

New Comp Elder Robinson
elder watts. he has been my good friend through my whole mission.
he played and will play after his mission football for air force.
we got to chile together.
well this week has been good. i forget to tell you guys about an experience i had when i was with elder stallings and it was my last week that i had with him. so there is this less active monica and she showed up to church randomly and i didnt know who she was and we talked and she said she was a member and we were like cool! so she told us to come by here house during the week and we actually didnt end up going by that week but she still showed up to church and we were pretty impressed. we went up to her and set up an appointment. when we went by we asked her what made her decide to go back to church all of a sudden. she said that she saw my comp and me walking in the street and she was driving and she looked over at us and saw that we werent alone. now i am not sure exactly what she saw but as she talked i felt the spirit very strong. she decided to go back to church from that experience.

My comp is sweet. (Elder Robinson)he is from bountiful utah and he is a good singer and is a cool guy. I am excited for this transfer!

This past week it rained a ton and there were rivers in the streets and i tried to take more pictures this past week so i will be sending some.

love you guys and have a great week!!

Wk 98 - nuevo cambio y el último...

Companion: Elder Stallings
Area: Tome'
well this is the old zoneand the zone before the transfer.

the 4 missionarys are from sectors kinda far away
so they showed up late for the group pic but these are them.
one elder is from brazil and actually where he lives is the teresina mission
where tanner served! pretty cool!

huge chocolate squares a member gave us
this past week was pretty good with elder stallings. this past week we found a person names marcelo and he has a little store in the center of town here in tomé so we have been sharing with him right there in his little store and he is way cool! he has a baptismal date for the 14th of may and he is a way chill guy. he couldnt come this past week and he told us that the first time we invited him but told us he will come next week. as well we got some references from some members this past week and i am way excited to see what happens to them. we have plans to meet up with the references with the members.

elder stallings was a great guy and he will actually be in utah on wednesday afternoon and later that day he will be going to idaho. i know he has family in orem but i am not sure what his plans are.

my new comp is elder robinson. i think he will be finishing the transfer after me or something like that. he is from bountiful utah and he is a great guy. i have known him my whole mission almost.

but sounds like you guys had a great week. i honestly love this sector and the members. thats one thing that is good is we have the confidence of the members and the bishop and honestly this has been one of my favorite sectors.

well love you guys and have a great week!

Wk 97 - la última semana del cambio

Companion: Elder Stallings
Area: Tome´

TOMÉ
tanner dealership (thought it was funny because that isnt a common name here)
this is the last week of the transfer and it is kinda weird because this transfer has been so long!! (8 weeks)

this past week i did a mini cambio with an elder in dichato. it rained that day but he let me use an umbrella he had in the house so i didnt get too wet!:) sometimes here it rains sideways so an umbrella doesnt do you much good!! haha it was a good time though. dichato has some dirt roads so luckily i had my boots on that day and it didnt really matter that much!! it is pretty cool to see how much it rains here some times! we are now in the fall here is it is cooling down a bit. the thing that is nice is that is that it doesnt get too cold here unless you are far away from concepción then it will be pretty cold! haha

well this is going to be a great week and i am excited to help our cristina. we have talked to a member that has the same age as cristina and we are going to be visiting cristina on friday with this member. it will be awesome! i feel the member will help her out a lot!!

well i am doing good and happy :) love you guys and have a great week!!
